How will Brexit impact your tax bill?

18-09-2017 18:00 à 20:30

Some reflections on the Belgian direct tax consequences and the way to restructure your business going forward

This seminar will address the impact that the UK’s departure from the EU could have on corporate tax. A hard Brexit will mean that a number of directives and treaties will no longer be applicable, urging companies to assess their future tax positions and applicable tax provisions in the new UK-Belgian relationship. Moreover, in a number of other Brexit scenarios, the impact can be substantial.

Topics that will be addressed include:

  • Which European Directives will no longer apply and what implications will this have?
  • What are the possibilities for treaty relief under the UK-Belgium double tax treaty?
  • Will a tax neutral cross-border merger, demerger or transfer still be possible tax neutrally and how will we look at past transactions?
  • Which opportunities does Brexit bring to restructure your business, not only minimize your tax exposure but to make your business more efficient and fit for growth?
  • Taxes are not everything, what makes a location great to do business and why you should consider Belgium.
